itinerary

We will start our Jeep Golden Circle and South Coast Combo Tour by driving along the beautiful Nesjavallaleið scenic route. Winding through mountains and volcano craters, this route offers great views over Thingavallavatn, Iceland’s largest natural lake.
We will visit Thingvellir National Park, site of the first parliament in Iceland and the world, where you will have time to explore the park and walk to the fissure created by the European and the North American tectonic plates drifting apart.

We will then continue to the famous Geysir hot spring area, where Geysir erupts every 8-10 minutes. Walk on the paths around the hot springs before we head to Gullfoss, the golden waterfall, one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls.
Our journey will continue towards the Secret Lagoon. This beautiful natural hot pool is one of the oldest in Iceland and it is a gem you should not miss. (Entrance fee to the lagoon is optional. It is 3.000 ISK and not included)
As we continue driving along the South Coast. You will have a view over one of Iceland’s most active volcanoes, Hekla, which was known as the “gateway to hell” in the Middle Ages. In the Lava Centre, we will observe the monitoring of active volcanic systems, earthquake activity and surface movements in Iceland.

We will then visit Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. Get your cameras ready and make sure you wear a raincoat as you will have time to walk behind Seljalandsfoss and you will get wet.
We will drive past Iceland’s most infamous volcano, Eyjafjallajokull, whose eruption froze air traffic in 2010 for two weeks, making Iceland famous all over the world.
Next stop of the tour will be Sólheimajökull, a beautiful glacier tongue you can easily walk to following a path from the parking lot. It will be an amazing experience to walk close to the glacier and admire its blue, white and black ice.
We will then visit the majestic Dirholey cliffs and Reynisfjara, with its popular black sand beaches, sea stacks, and basalt columns.

If you take this tour in the wintertime, you might be lucky enough to get a glimpse of the Northern Lights, weather permitting.

This tour is excellent if you don’t have much time in Iceland but still want to see all the best spots, as it combines the two most popular tours in Iceland, taking you to some of the country’s most beautiful places, with all the comforts of a jeep tour.
